About the event
The TCS London Marathon is the UK's premier mass participation event which for 2024, will see 48,000 people take to the streets of London to take on the 26.2 mile course, all the way from Blackheath to The Mall, taking some of the capital's most prestigious landmarks. The pinnacle of sporting achievement, and not only forms part of the London Classics series, but is also one of five Abbott World Marathon Majors.

Join our Wayfinding Team stationed on Tower Bridge for the TCS London Marathon, where your role will be to guide and assist runners and spectators along their journey. Embrace the thrill of being at the heart of one of the world's most iconic marathons, offering support and directions to participants as they pass through this historic landmark. Your friendly and attentive approach will be crucial in ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for all involved in this prestigious event.

 Sunday 21 April 2024
What are the shift times? 7.30am - 4pm or 7.30am - 7pm (we'll ask your preference at your interview)
Where is it? Tower Bridge
What will I be paid? £12.82 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay), paid within 2 weeks of the event

Is there good public transport links? Yes, but bear in mind road closures so buses will be on diversion throughout the day. The closest tube station is Tower Hill, closest DLR is Tower Gateway and closest National Rail is Fenchurch Street.

Is there bike parking? Yes.

Is there car parking? No, there's no parking at all.

Are meals provided? To be announced.

Is this role open to anyone? Yes! We'd love you to have a good knowledge of Central London though, as well as some experience in wayfinding or other customer-facing role.

Is uniform provided? Yes, you'll get an Event People hi-viz for that day, which you'll need to return at the end of the day.

Do I need to bring anything with me? Not at the moment, no.

Do I need to have specific experience to apply? A good knowledge of Central London would be fantastic, as well as some experience in wayfinding or other customer-facing role.

Is there training that needs to be done beforehand? No, but there may be a virtual briefing beforehand.

Is accommodation provided? No.
