About the event
The TCS London Marathon is the UK's premier mass participation event which for 2024, will see 48,000 people take to the streets of London to take on the 26.2 mile course, all the way from Blackheath to The Mall, taking some of the capital's most prestigious landmarks. The pinnacle of sporting achievement, and not only forms part of the London Classics series, but is also one of five Abbott World Marathon Majors.

Job description
Join our team supporting the TCS London Marathon Charity of the Year, Samaritans, where your role will involve setting up gazebos to provide support and respite for participants and spectators. You must have event crewing experience for this role. We're looking for drivers and crew (non-driver) to fill our remaining spaces. The driver role requires being able to drive a van - category B, up to 3500kg. If applying for the driver role, please ensure your driving entitlement level and a photo of your driving licence is uploaded onto your profile in advance.

Drivers will need to be able to get to our warehouse near Hertford late morning to collect and load on Saturday 20 April. Drivers will then drive vans to London for onsite orientation on Saturday afternoon. Drivers will report back to vans on Sunday for 6am, and the end time will be confirmed later. Drivers will move vans back to the warehouse and unload on Monday 23. Crew would only be working Sunday 21 April, and will report to Tower Piazza for 6am.

Other information

Is there good public transport links? Yes. On the Sunday 21, you'll be reporting to the north side of Tower Bridge, where there's good links to DLR at Tower Gateway, tube at Tower Hill, and National Rail at Fenchurch Street.

Is there bike parking? Yes, within the BBC compound in Tower Piazza.

Is there car parking? At the warehouse, yes, but there'll be no car parking near Tower Bridge

Are meals provided? TBA

Is this role open to anyone? Yes. Heavy lifting is required for both of these roles.

Is uniform provided? A hi-viz will be provided. Please dress appropriate for the weather. Closed-toe, supportive shoes only - we recommend steel toe-capped shoes. Branding on clothing should be discreet.

Do I need to bring anything with me? Work gloves, headtorch and steel toe-capped shoes recommended. Drivers should have their driving licence with them at all times.

Do I need to have specific experience to apply? Event crewing experience required. You also must also have a UK driving licence and be able to drive a van, up to 3500kg.

Is there training that needs to be done beforehand? Drivers must have a manual UK driving licence, with category B entitlement as a minimum.
