Join our dedicated team as Production Assistants for the Wizz Air Hackney Half, where you'll be stationed at water and aid stations along the course, working closely with volunteers to coordinate station activities and ensure a smooth operation. Embrace the energy of the event as you ensure runners stay hydrated and supported throughout their journey, creating a supportive and cohesive team environment dedicated to providing top-notch assistance.
We are also recruiting for people to join our enthusiastic Wayfinding Team, where you'll be stationed at key transport hubs and other key pedestrian interchanges to guide participants and spectators. Collaborating closely with volunteers, you'll ensure clear direction and support throughout the event, contributing to a seamless and enjoyable experience for all involved.
NEW ROLE! Join our dedicated Aid Station Team, where you'll play a crucial role in keeping runners hydrated and energised along the course. You'll distribute water and drinks with efficiency and enthusiasm, providing essential support to participants as they tackle the 13.1-miles. Your teamwork and commitment will help create a positive and uplifting experience for all involved in this memorable event.

When is it? Sunday 19 May 2024
What are the shift times? Various depending on role/location - start times from 5am to 10:30am and finish times from 12.30pm to 15:00
Where is it? Throughout Hackney
What will I be paid? £12.82 per hour, paid within 2 weeks
Other information
Is there good public transport links? All aid stations and wayfinding points have great public transport options nearby, but please consider the early start and some services may not be running for this time of morning on a Sunday.
Is there bike parking? On-street cycle parking is available at all aid stations and wayfinding locations.
Is there car parking? There's no dedicated car parking available.
Are meals provided? A light breakfast will be provided for all aid stations. Staff working on aid stations later on in the route will also get a lunch pack. Wayfinding roles TBC.
Is this role open to anyone? We want enthusiastic, bubbly people who don't mind doing a variety of roles and fostering a fantastic relationship with volunteers and participants alike. There will be some heavy lifting involved for Production Assistant roles. A local knowledge of Hackney and onward TfL transport options would be useful for wayfinding roles.
Is uniform provided? A hi-viz will be provided. You should otherwise be wearing black and comfortable shoes.
Do I need to bring anything with me? There will be some heavy lifting on some aid stations so work gloves are a good idea. You should also bring a refillable water bottle and light refreshments.
Do I need to have specific experience to apply? Working or volunteering on an aid station for a similar event would be a great advantage.
Is there training that needs to be done beforehand? There'll be a virtual briefing the week before.
Is accommodation provided? No, accommodation will not be available.
Is travel reimbursed? No, travel cannot be reimbursed for this event.
