About the event
The London Marathon Running Show is the point when the 53,000+ participants of the 2025 TCS London Marathon collect their bib numbers! They also have the opportunity to listen to expert talks and advice, do some last-minute shopping, and get that "I'm running the 2025 TCS London Marathon!" selfie.

Job description
Join our dynamic team at the London Marathon Running Show, the bustling hub where all the participants collect their bib numbers. Your responsibilities will include verifying participant identification, scanning QR codes, and efficiently issuing bib numbers and timing chips. Embrace the excitement of being part of one of the world's most renowned marathons, ensuring a smooth and organised experience for participants as they prepare for their race day journey. Your attention to detail and friendly demeanour will contribute to the success of this iconic event.

We are also recruiting for staff for t-shirt collection and customisation, information point, registration heldesk and onsite wayfinding, as well as management positions.

** Once confirmed (see above), these times may differ slightly (15mins earlier) if its your first shift of this year, as there'll be additional time required for issuing uniform and training

Other information

Is there good public transport links? Yes. There's DLR and Elizabeth line (Custom House), the London Cable Car and plenty of bus stops all within a short walking distance.

Is there bike parking? Yes. There's covered public cycle parking under the bridge to Custom House station, accessed via the taxi rank on Western Gateway at street-level. There is also uncovered cycle parking around the lawn in front of the ExCeL steps - beside the boat. Showers, changing rooms and lockers are not available. 

Is there car parking? Whilst the ExCeL does has extensive car parking onsite, this is usually £25 per day and not reimbursable, and can also reach capacity quickly. Is there motorcycle parking? Yes. There's free motorcycle parking onsite. It cannot be pre-booked. Go to the ExCeL website for more information.

Are meals provided? Meals are not provided. There's water refill points throughout the venue.

Is this role open to anyone? Yes, anyone can apply. You should be able to work all 4-days. We warmly welcome returners who've worked at this event before. 

Is uniform provided? Yes. More information will be shared closer to the time.

Do I need to bring anything with me? All required equipment is provided. Please bring a refillable water bottle. It can also sometimes get cold so having a white long-sleeved top to wear under your uniform may be useful too. There is no onsite storage or lockers so anything you bring with you must be able to fit under a small table.

Do I need to have specific experience to apply? People-facing experience is ideal. Previous work in event registration, sport or participation in marathons is not required. Returners who've worked at this event before are welcome.

Is there training that needs to be done beforehand? A training video may be provided, which everyone (including returners) must watch before your first shift. Everyone will get on an onsite orientation & role-specific training at the beginning of your first shift.

Is accommodation provided? No, accommodation is not provided.

Is travel reimbursed? No, travel is not able to be reimbursed.
