Other information

Is there good public transport links? Ely has many direct rail connections, including with London King's Cross, Cambridge, Peterborough, Stansted Airport, Norwich, Birmingham, York and the North East. The city is also easily accessible by bus from Cambridge and Newmarket. The Cathedral is less than a 10 minute walk from the train station, through the historic Cherry Hill Park. Alternatively, the station has an official taxi rank. See Ely Cathedral featured in this video from Great Northern's Track and Treasures series.

Is there bike parking? Yes - outside.

Is there car parking? Ely is well served by several major routes including the A10 and A142 (linking with the M11, A1 and A14). Car parking is free of charge in Ely city centre and most of the car parks are a 5 or 10 minute walk from the Cathedral. Please be aware that on Saturdays and during the summer season, the car parks can get very busy. Barton Road Car Park, Forehill Car Park and Ship Lane Car Park all offer free, all day parking after 8.30am. View a map of Ely's car parks on the East Cambs website.

Are meals provided? No. We recommend bringing enough water to last your shift and all the refreshments you need.

We're not able to let staff finish staff early for transport reasons.
